Senior-level copywriter, editor, marketer, and SEO specialist with eight years of experience producing digital publications, print publications, landing pages, blogs, video scripts, newsletters, and social media posts.
Bachelor’s degree in writing studies from Utah Valley University.
Based in Salt Lake City.
I began working in content marketing over eight years ago. In that time, I’ve written for three websites: Overstock.com, Move.org, and Fixr.com. I also volunteer as a contributing writer for Slug Magazine. Across these platforms, I’ve written blog posts, landing pages, music reviews, ad copy, interviews, social posts, video scripts, event promos, product descriptions, how-to guides, and email campaigns. Over the years, I've gained a wealth of experience optimizing written content for UX and SEO, and my content has generated thousands of page views and millions of dollars in revenue. I've also taken on editing and mentoring duties many times, and I've often provided meaningful edits that helped align my peers' content with KPIs.
My content has been featured by several news sources and business journals, including Nasdaq.com and USA Today.
Before my writing career began in October of 2016, I worked as a writing center tutor at Snow College and, later, Utah Valley University. As a tutor, I helped students from diverse backgrounds develop their essays, resumes, and creative pieces. This experience gave me a keen, critical eye for potential in my own work and the work of others. I also did a semester-long internship for the UVU Writing Center wherein I wrote training materials, designed landing pages, and produced content for the center’s website.
My education in Writing Studies at Utah Valley University helped me develop a strong background in writing of all types and for varied audiences. My coursework also made me proficient with Microsoft Office, the Google Suite, the Adobe Creative Suite, HTML, and CSS.
During my time at UVU, my creative and academic writing was published in several of the university’s student journals. Later in my academic career, I became the managing editor for a university journal called Touchstones and the technical editor for another called Write Outside Yourself. In these positions, I personally edited many of the creative pieces we published, typeset the journals in Adobe InDesign, led the publishing team to meet deadlines, and priced out printing jobs to local printers to stay within budget. My time on these journals provided me with invaluable leadership skills, time management skills, and a strong storyteller’s voice which I use and develop daily.
